About

The Energetics Technology Center (ETC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing U.S. national security through innovative problem solving and actionable thought leadership. As a 501(c)(3), ETC provides objective, trusted counsel to the Department of Defense, state, and local government partners.
ETC supports the full research and development lifecycle, from identifying emerging technology opportunities to developing the STEM workforce. Through multiple Partnership Intermediary Agreements, ETC connects government and industry leaders to deliver impact.
Founded in 2006 in partnership with the Center for Energetics Concepts Development (CECD) at the University of Maryland, ETC initially focused on energetics research and engineering in collaboration with the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD). Early efforts included studies on detonation physics and blast effects on personnel.
Building on this foundation, ETC has expanded into adjacent domains such as robotics, autonomous systems, literature-based discovery, and developing the next generation of STEM professionals.
Today, ETC is a growing team of more than 40 professionals committed to delivering high-impact solutions for service members and the overall national security community.
